What’s in my travel bag: Makeup edition

With travel restrictions easing in the UK and over 66% of the UK now being fully vaccinated, we’re getting our travel essentials ready to take on our next flight out! We all know the struggles of trying to narrow down your collection to just a few products to take with you when travelling especially if it’s for a long holiday with multiple looks in mind.

SPF:

While this technically isn’t a makeup product, it’s crucial to bring great sunscreen (that is good for your skin!!!) with you when travelling. The type of sunscreen will vary based on the trip you’re going on. Make sure you have 50+ if you care about looking baby-faced over 30! We recommend the Vegan Sun Bum sunscreen stick that will go perfectly under your makeup and is water resistant.

EYE:

When you’re going away you want to make sure you take volatile eyeshadows shades that go with all of your holiday wardrobes. We advise going for gold/browns/champagne colours and always packing a little bit of shimmer. Since our Eye-luminate are single eyeshadows made to be used with your finger, no need for that brush to take up all that space!

FACE MASK:

Flights are known for drying out skin, as the icon skincare guru Hyram tells us the most vital part to keep you feeling and looking fresh is to HYDRATE HYDRATE HYDRATE while flying! Make sure you have at least 2 packed for the flight to the destination and back✈️ One of our faves, is the Origins Intensive Overnight Hydrating Mask. With long flights, this will definitely give you a radiant natural, hydrating glow.

ROSEWATER SPRAY:

These high pH products throw our skin all out of whack and can make existing skin conditions like rosacea, psoriasis, acne, and wrinkles worse. But rose water's naturally low pH of 5.5 helps rest the natural balance. As a result, rose water helps soothe and calm the skin — reducing skin irritation especially during travel. Get your rose water from Pixi

MASCARA:

Travelling can make our eyes look droopy from being so tired. But with a little mascara touch up, your eyes will give the illusion of being awake, elongated and fresh! Get a natural look with the Ilia Limitless Lash Mascara.

LIP/BLUSH:

Blush is back and here to stay (we hope!), a nifty trick that so many A-list celebs love to do is to match their cheek to their lip perfectly and the best way to do that is to use your liquid lipstick as a blush too. Simply dab a few dots to the apple of your cheeks and use a beauty blender to blend outwards and BAM! Reckless allows you to use the Lip Light as a blush with its' tint effect.

HIGHLIGHT:

Highlights often come in fairly large packaging, a top tip is to use a light colour shimmery eyeshadow as your highlight to save space in your makeup bag. With our Reckless Products because they are so mini, you can fit them into your travel makeup bag and use them for multi-purposes.
